Manning Kass is a national civil litigation defense firm that stands out from the rest—every case and client matters. Established in 1994 with just sixteen attorneys, we have expanded over the past thirty years to more than 170 attorneys across eight offices, including major economic hubs like New York and Los Angeles.
We are seeking a General Liability Associate with at least 2+ years of civil litigation experience, to join our Team in one of our California offices. This role focuses on defending clients in complex, high-exposure general liability matters, including catastrophic injury cases. Our attorneys represent corporations, businesses, and insurers, while also advising clients on risk mitigation and litigation strategy.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Attending court hearings, participating in site inspections, taking and defending depositions.
- Drafting extensive written discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, documents requests and request for admissions.
- Evaluating, analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies.
- Proactively manage communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.
Qualifications: A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required, along with active membership in the California State Bar in good standing. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of general civil litigation experience, with experience or exposure to catastrophic injury matters preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong legal research and writing skills with keen attention to detail, as well as excellent time management abilities and a proven capacity to manage and meet deadlines.
Locations (California): Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, Inland Empire, and San Francisco.
Annual salary with benefits: $125,000 - $180,000. Salary is commensurate with experience
