Law Students

Mentorship Program

Each school year, OCAABA’s Pipeline Committee offers a formal Mentorship Program for OCAABA’s law student members. Student participants accepted into the Program will be matched up with an experienced OCAABA attorney or judicial member who will provide them with general guidance on the legal profession, including tips on developing lawyering skills and choosing a career. The Pipeline Committee will assist in helping mentors and mentees get to know each other better by providing both formal opportunities for mentors and mentees to socialize and network, as well as informal suggestions for engaging in meaningful dialogues and discussions.

In order to participate in the Mentorship Program, mentors and mentees must (1) be current OCAABA members during the 2024 and 2025 calendar years and (2) commit to attending at least one Mentorship Program event during the program year, and meet at least once per academic semester to further develop the mentoring relationship.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 Mentorship Program. The deadline to apply is October 31, 2024, but please note that space is limited, so priority will be given to those who apply earlier during the application period.

If you have any questions about the Mentorship Program, please email a committee member or contactus@ocaaba.org.
