A.E.I. Law is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Business and Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join our dynamic team in Huntington Beach. This role involves handling a wide range of complex commercial litigation and advisory matters, including breach of contract, civil fraud, business torts, trademark, copyright and trade secret infringement, defamation, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, employers’ side employment law, and construction matters.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong legal drafting and negotiation skills, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision while delivering outstanding outcomes.

Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Independently manage a full litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including taking ownership of strategy, deadlines, and client communication.
  • Appear remotely and in-person in California state and federal courts; prepare and argue briefs, pleadings, motions, and discovery matters.
  • Draft, review, and ensure accuracy and compliance of all legal documents.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and preparation.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare documentation, evidence, and trial materials; participate in trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Manage case files, scheduling, and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay current on evolving laws and regulations affecting clients.
  • Collaborate with the team on complex strategies while driving day-to-day case progress autonomously.
  • 1,820 billable hour annual requirement.

Qualifications: A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active California Bar license in good standing are required. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in business or commercial litigation, with a proven ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong initiative and focus. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in legal drafting, negotiation, and achieving successful client outcomes, along with experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial preparation; first- or second-chair trial experience is strongly preferred. Proficiency with LexisNexis or similar platforms and case management software is required, with experience using Clio considered a plus.
