Manning Kass’ Medical Malpractice and Elder Abuse teams represent medical professionals and healthcare facilities throughout Southern California. The practice includes civil litigation at both trial and appellate levels, allied health board hearings, administrative hearings, drug/medical device litigation, managed care litigation, and elder abuse litigation. They are seeking a highly motivated and well-rounded Associate to join out Medical Malpractice & Elder Abuse Team in Southern California.

The candidate will work closely with senior associates and partners daily, engaging in all phases of litigation—from case evaluation and discovery to trial presentation—focusing on strategic thinking to achieve client goals. Seeking candidates who are eager to learn, highly self-motivated, and interested in long-term professional growth.

Responsibilities:

• Handling all aspects of the medical malpractice matter, including propounding and responding to extensive written discovery, including interrogatories, document requests and request for admissions.
• Proactively managing communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.
• Timely and accurate reporting to our clients, ensuring compliance with their case management requirements.

Qualifications:

• J.D. and active California State Bar membership in good standing.

• 5+ years of medical malpractice experience preferred.

• Elder abuse or healthcare industry experience a plus.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage a caseload in a fast-paced environment.

• Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of current litigation trends and best practices.

Locations (California): Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, and San Diego.

Annual salary range with benefits: $145,000 - $190,000.
