Kutak Rock LLP seeks an Associate Attorney to join its busy litigation and trial practice in its Los Angeles office. Qualified candidates will have two or more years of experience in managing all aspects of complex litigation defense in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration forums. This dynamic role is ideal for an attorney with interest in developing their knowledge and skills in environmental toxic tort and commercial litigation while working closely with experienced partners and more senior associates in a collegial and collaborative environment. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of complex civil litigation, including client communications, motions, discovery, court appearances, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

• Skilled in taking and defending depositions and drafting dispositive motions.

• Excellent oral, written, analytical, research, and communication skills.

• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management abilities.

• Strategic, self-motivated, and driven to help grow the practice.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Receptive to mentorship and remote training across offices.

• Committed to client relationships and achieving client goals.

Qualifications:

• Active California bar license in good standing.
• 2+ years of complex civil litigation defense experience required; environmental, toxic tort, commercial, or construction experience preferred.

Annual salary range with benefits: $145,000 - $195,000.
