    The County of San Diego's Office of County Counsel has an immediate vacancy for a full-time Deputy County Counsel – Employment Litigation to render legal services and perform legal assignments in an exciting and rewarding position. This position acts as an advocate on behalf of the County of San Diego and supports the County’s Office of Labor Standards and Enforcement in accepting allegations of wage theft complaints for civil enforcement to help wage theft victims.

    Western State College of Law seeks an experienced estates/probate attorney for an adjunct professor position overseeing the Probate Clinic. This four-credit course consists of a weekly seminar in addition to weekly field work in Orange County Probate Court. The class is capped at 8 students. The stipend for the semester is $6,000. Matters include:
    •    Trust matters, including validity of trusts and trust amendments, as well as allegations of breach of fiduciary duties, undue influence, and financial elder abuse.
    •    Decedent Estate matters, such as the validity or invalidity of wills and intestate successions.
    •    Guardianship of minors.
    •    Conservatorship matters, both general and limited.
    •    Requests for temporary restraining orders relating to allegations of elder abuse.

    The Office of the City Attorney seeks a well-qualified individual for a Deputy City Attorney IV position in the General and Complex Litigation Division of the Office of the City Attorney. Significant litigation experience including writ and appellate experience is desirable for this position.

    The majority of lawsuits filed against the City involve tort cases and this position will handle a significant menu of such cases as well as other cases, including but not limited to breach of contract, inverse condemnation, and civil rights. The City Attorney has sole and absolute discretion to assign the selected attorney to new, additional or different duties or practice areas in litigation, administrative proceedings or transactional work.

    The City of Huntington Beach offers a truly unique opportunity for experienced California municipal attorneys, as it is one of the few cities with an elected City Attorney. The Chief Litigation Counsel leads the City’s trial and litigation efforts in all civil lawsuits, either for prosecution of or in the defense, on behalf of the City of Huntington Beach, and works with other attorneys who are litigating cases on behalf of the City.

    Minimum of five (5) years increasingly responsible experience in the litigation and trying of cases in the State of California with a minimum of taking lead role in five (5) jury and three (3) bench trials to verdict in Superior Court. Learn more
